This collection explores the idea of trying to create floating plants arranged within invisible structures. Working with hand cut see through plastic and macramé the plants at first glance appear to be hovering, you only truly notice the complexities of the plastic macramé close up.
The invisible nature of plastic is always at the forefront of my design aesthetics but with this collection I wanted to also showcase the invisible structures of the plants.
Usually the hidden part of the plant, the root system, is forgotten however it’s just as beautiful and as stunning as the leafy part of any plant. The root system becomes a dynamic part of each piece and enhances the effect as you watch all aspects of the plant grow and change.
